Commission & Objective

Aqua Swim Supplies approached us to produce a YouTube advertisement that would communicate more than just products, they wanted to highlight the expertise, community, and trust behind their family-run business.

The objective was to create a cinematic campaign that speaks directly to swimmers and parents of young athletes: people who understand how critical reliable, high-quality gear is to performance, safety, and confidence in the water. As a business founded by swimmers, Aqua Swim Supplies wanted the ad to reflect their unique position, not just as retailers, but as experts who truly understand the sport from the inside.

Creative Approach

We developed a narrative centred on authenticity, expertise, and community. The campaign follows a professional competitive swimmer and silver medalist, Jamie, who is sponsored by Aqua Swim Supplies, showcasing both elite performance and grassroots coaching.

To ensure clarity for the client, we created:

  • A detailed script and narrative structure

  • A comprehensive shot list

  • A visual mood board to translate cinematic concepts into accessible imagery

  • Production planning and coordination

The visual language was designed to balance strength and warmth capturing the intensity of training alongside the supportive environment Aqua Swim Supplies fosters for swimmers of all ages.

Beyond the core YouTube advertisement, we prioritised capturing a comprehensive library of high-quality footage to support Aqua Swim Supplies’ broader marketing needs.

Where schedule allowed, additional scenes, cutaways, and brand-focused visuals were filmed to ensure the material could be repurposed across multiple platforms, including social media, website content, and future promotional campaigns. This approach recognises that professional production is a long-term investment for clients, not a single-use deliverable.

By producing a versatile bank of cinematic assets, the brand now has access to consistent, professional visuals that can be deployed over time, reducing the need for frequent reshoots while maintaining a cohesive visual identity across channels.

This extended coverage enables Aqua Swim Supplies to maximise the value of the production, supporting both immediate campaign goals and ongoing content requirements.

Production

Filming took place across active training sessions, coaching environments, and interview setups to authentically portray the swimming community surrounding the brand.

We worked with multiple swimmers, including young athletes, to illustrate the full spectrum of Aqua Swim Supplies’ impact, from beginners to elite competitors. Jamie served as the central figure, demonstrating how trusted equipment and expert guidance translate into real performance.

Witnessing the discipline, endurance, and physical demands of the sport firsthand reinforced the campaign’s core message: quality gear is not a luxury for swimmers, it is essential.

During the shoot, a large Q&A session with young swimmers was introduced within the allocated filming window. Although this segment had initially been discussed as a separate session, the production team adapted in real time to incorporate it seamlessly into the schedule.

Comprehensive pre-production planning ensured the team was prepared for unforeseen changes. Backup audio equipment and contingency workflows had been arranged in advance, allowing us to capture clear sound and structured coverage despite the acoustically challenging pool environment and the number of participants involved.

This adaptability enabled us to document genuine interactions between the professional athlete and young swimmers, reinforcing the campaign’s focus on mentorship, accessibility, and community.
